Arsenal Agree Star Deal but that is Great News for Tottenham

Arsenal have been brilliant since the turn of the year but the first half of the season has cost them the title.
That is the story of Arsenal under Wenger for over the past decade, they only perform well in one half of the season.
Last season, Gunners were brilliant in the first half and ended the year on top of the Premier League, eventually finished the season in fourth place.
The North Londoners need to sign top players and increase the quality and depth of the squad if they are to seriously challenge for the league title next season.
The latest reports suggest that Arsenal have already agreed one year deal to extend stay of captain Mikel Arteta. However, that might great news for arch rivals Tottenham.
Spanish star Arteta is past his best abd has spent this season mostly on the treatment table having only featured in 7 league games.
Moreover, Coquelin has earned the DM role with fantastic performances for Arsenal and Arteta is not even a quality holding midfield backup.
Still, if reports are true that Arteta is staying then it is highly unlikely that Arsenal will move for Schneiderlin as Arsenal already have Flamini, Arteta, Coquelin and winter signing Bielik as options for defensive midfield.
Such a scenario should help Tottenham, who are closing in to sign Schneiderlin as published previously and should push to complete the deal as soon as possible.
