Manchester United are on fantastic run in the premier league having won five back to back games.
The consistent run has taken the Red Devils above their city rivals Manchester City right before the exciting contest between the two to be held at Old Trafford.
It will be fair to say that on current form, Louis van Gaal’s men should be considered favorites to beat City who have been in average since the turn of the year.
Not so long ago, City were considered strong title challengers but now find themselves in fourth spot.
Not only that, another defeat may as well put them under immense pressure of losing the final CL qualification place as well if Liverpool win their game.
As far as the team news is concerned, Manchester United do not have any major injury concerns and should be able to start their strongest side against the rivals.
Moreover, Man United have been handed a major boost as star striker Robin van Persie is now fit and set to return for the Red Devils against Man City.
Van persie tweeted:
“Back to training with the group today. Was a great session. Happy to be fit and able to play again. Looking forward to my next game!”
For certain, he will not be starting straight away.
We will have to wait and see whether or not the Dutch striker will be included in the squad after long injury layover.
