German international Mats Hummels has been arguably one of the best central defenders in the world over the past few years.
However, this season, the World Cup winner has been highly inconsistent as a captain for Borussia Dortmund.
Like every summer, One of Klopp’s top players leave the club, it seems Mats Hummels will be the next one and the Kaiser is heading towards Manchester United.
There has been mixed statements from the player and the club regarding his future but perhaps all things point towards one direction now and that is a move to Old Trafford for Hummels.
According to Daily Mail, the highly rated defender has indicated that he is finally ready to sign for Manchester United
On the other hand, after the defeat against Borussia Monchengladbach in the last league game in which Hummels was again horrible, manager Jurgen Klopp has hinted that the 26 year old star might be thinking about Man United already.
Klopp stated:
“He’s good enough for Manchester United. He’s told me he’s thinking things over.”
“We’re always looking around the market ourselves.”
United’s defense was average in the first half of the season but has shown significant improvement in the second half.
Mats Hummels surely is good enough for Manchester United and will largely amplify the quality of the defense.

I have been saying about Hummels for ages that he is NOT the defender United need!
His performances have not just been poor since the United connection but have been poor all season AND yes he played very well for Germany in the World Cup BUT when there are world class players around you, it is easy to look good1
United in my opinion will be making a big mistake if signing Hummels. Otamendi is a far better player and well worth the asking price!
We need a defensive player like maquinhos and hummels too and in the midfiled we need like fredi gwarin muro icardi and also gundogan too in foward we need to bring in mempis depay, daybla and ada turan if this can be possible may GOD help us to bring all this players in utd amen.
Who the hell is this, ranting negatively about Hummel? Did you watch all BVB matches at all? The team is out of shape & here you are putting the blame on Hummel, if you didn’t watch those matches, at least you can read! Raymond, I certainly do watch Dortmund each time they are on Eurosport as they are my 2nd team and you are right, the other Dortmund players are bad too but Hummels is supposed to be ‘world class’ but that’s not what he has been this season!

StretfordEnder, I simply disagree with you. Though Dutmund finds itself in a state of delima, so all the players should be affected in form as well. A player of Lionel Messi can perform poorly if Queens Park Ranger he ply his trade is not doing well at the moment, but if he is signed by an Arsenal team or a Chelsea team that plays well, his form will be restored. Hummels can be a good buy if United decides to bring him on. Watch out for HUMMELS as a defensive leader if signed by United. Have a blessed week, United fans the world over. In my own opinion, both Hummels and Otamendi are equally good. For Hummels, he can not perform alone when the rest of the team are not. Besides, there is room for improvement for him at United. Just look at Fellaini, almost all United fans wanted him out, but he has improved greatly looking at how he dominated over Yaya Toure in yesterday’s match. I propose Hummels be bought so that he pairs up with Marcos Rojo, when Smalling and Jones back up. CONGRATULATIONS to All United Players, Fans and the Red Devils Fraternity, Lve u ALL.

I dont tink d likes of jones, smallin, valencia, evans and rapheal are who we can really rely on.. so its best we go for Hummels and maybe Varane with Fabio concentrao to add more stability to the defense.. Luke shaw has been really poor.. so we need a total clear out at the back line
Hummels is a world class defender, if signed by lvg that cup be a bonus because he can offer more than our own defenders,,, but before we jump into conclusion, lets observe his all round quality. He s strong and a ball player of Ferdinand caliber, he organizes defense very well to but his weakness,, slow. The epl needs power and speed, otherwise without this qualities, you’re a failure. To excel Hummels must train athletics or get a better speed cover up center back. Otherwise it might be a waste of money. History speaks by itself, it’s rare utd to sign an accomplished player and Excel. Most of our stars are signed when they’re average players.
Guys correct me if iam wrong, but in my opinion i think Antonio Valencia is best suited in Right back, he took Aguero out of game in one to one situations Valencia has gop pace and body he is even starting to defend well.
Why dont we buy both hummels and otamendi i bet with my life that we will have the best defenders in the world just imagine.

Man.united needs to replace ashley young despite his in good form,the likes of him cant function in the champions league we need a player with space who can dribble into the 18yard box and for that we need a player like sterling on the left wing and we need to concentrate more on our defensive line,we need a good central back and i will like LVG to sign otamendi paring with his argetine team mate marcos rojo,it would be an excellent line of defense Blind-rojo-otamendi-valencia..valenica cant be replaced by clyne in dat position,clyne can only serve as a close substitute,valencia has good space which denies aguero even on one on one situations,m proud to be a united fan! Personally I don’t see much of problem with our defense I think a natural right back like alves would be enough then in midfield let’s bid Pogba or De bruin better still the likes of Koke. Up front Depay is a must and 1 goal machine like Higuain/Cavani

Hmm. No doubt. Matt is world class. I don’t have a problem with his form right now because I feel the whole BVB team is out of shape and it would be unfair to fault matt in this whole episode. I’m rather of a different opinion that matt lacks pace. I’m not sure about his ability in sniffing out balls and making defensive clearance in the premier league. The game tempo and intensity is just so high. The EPL is a totally different atmosphere… Nicolas Otamendi or raphel varane would be my pick.
Please guys think again, i dont want to see us regreting later after the transfer window.
Lets just buy Hummels now that he is available he is a world class withing the first two or three months he will adapt to the premier league and Van Gaal will bring the best out of him just as he did with Fellaini, Young, Smalling and Mata.

Hummel’s is a nice player and can fit united but I rather pick varane or otamendi.as for valencia ,he is good there and blind is also good and van gaal should sign delay and Cavan to pair with Rooney and our midfield is OK for now or add the Luke of pogba or verrati or strootman that can replace carrick and van gaal should never bench Herrera cos he is out key player in united midfield
Hummels is a world class defender no doubt but i would prefer to sign otamendi paring him up with rojo and i dont really love how mata is playing like a winger though he is superb at the position i would love mata to play in the midfield and valencia to play as the right winger then clyne as the right back and i need a striker like ings i dnt really like the idea to sign cavani, he dosent have epl experience and may end up like falcao

Ever since chelsea has got problems going forward and with lots of injuries with the likes of DIEGO COSTA and LOIC REMY Injured, iam more optimistic and confident that man utd will beat chelsea at their own Home ground 4-0 or even 3-1.
I know this might seem like a joke or sumthng but if u think bwt it, it makes perfect sense Valencia is going to face Hazard and as we all know, Valencia is better than hard Body and Pace wise so Valencia is going to outplay and take hazard out of the game.
No one in Chelsea team is Tall so if Fellaini can outplay Toure imagine what he will do to fabregas or matic we have two advantages meaning carricks pass and fellainis Physicality will give Chelsea hell, And corners we r going to dominate them with Fallaini and Smalling.
Drogba has got no pace and i dont think he will last 90 minutes obviously he wont run with our players.
Willian is full of Running hes no real threat and he has no skill.

Hummels is a great player we need at Old Trafford. The combination of smalling, Rojo, Hummels and Blind it will be a capable defence.
Matts Hummel is a great player and a class of Manchester United. Verily verily, the old lad is highly needed at the Theatre of Dream. Imagine the combination of Rojo/Shaw, Smalling/Jones, Hummel/Evans, Valencia/Rafael.
Its clearly a better time for the doubting THOMAS about Man United to come to their senses.
