The Red Devils are in search of a quality right full back and one of the options linked is England international Nathaniel Clyne.
United must not look for cheaper or veteran alternate like Dani Alves but focus on completing move for the Southampton star.
Clyne has been brilliant for Saints taking over the right full back role when teenage star Chambers departed to Arsenal last summer. Man United were interested in signing the €27m star in the winter window as well but that did not happen.
Now, Metro reports that Manchester United are closing in on Nathaniel Clyne as Southampton manager has admitted that move is imminent even though he will try his best to keep him.
Saints’ boss Ronald Koeman claimed:
“It will be hard to keep him (Clyne), when there’s interest in the player it’s very hard, of course, but normally if we play a season like we have done so far there will be interest.”
The 24 year old England international’s performances earned him a place in the national side last November and has got 4 caps as well.
This season, Clyne has played 35 games for the Saints and has been a pivotal member of their solid defensive setup.
Clyne will be a very good addition to Man United considering his age.
