CONFIRMED – Liverpool Starting XI Formation vs Hull

Liverpool FCA must win game for Liverpool if they are to keep their top 4 hopes alive but Rodgers’ men are not in form.
Simon Mignolet has kept most clean sheets in the PL this season but their attack has been a major concern.
Reds clearly miss former striker Luis Suarez who left for Barca last summer while Daniel Sturridge has spent most part of the season on the treatment table.
As far as the team news is concerned, Mario Balotelli starts again for the merseysiders. Surprisingly the main change in the line up is that captain Gerrard is out. The skipper is rested for the game hence Henderson takes the armband.
Joe Allen returns to the starting XI in place of Stevie G. Sterling starts out wide again which did not really work last time around against West Brom.
Here is Liverpool’s confirmed starting XI formation vs Hull City.

That has pretty much got to be one of the worst performances by a Liverpool team that I can remember. No drive, no ambition. Instead of playing out wide, they repeatedly came inside playing right into Hull’s hands. They gave away an easy goal and could have quite easily conceded further. Hull played with much more enthusiasm and purpose. Liverpool almost played like their season was already over. Without wishing to sound like I am beating a “dead-horse”, but as far as I am concerned, that should spell the end for Rodgers. If you cannot go away to Hull and play with purpose and get the 3 points, or at the very worst get 1 point, you really do have problems. The choice of manpower may not be what Rodgers would like but he has enough firepower in the side to be able to manage better than he has and there has to become a point when he throws his arms up and admits a good proportion of the blame is his!
