Mechelen is in big problems. Many players left team during season, they are playing now with mix of juniors and reserves and results are not best. One more player, Lanfia Camara, defender who left them in last few days. They are just too weak even for this league.
About results. They are on 17. place of 18 teams and have 6 points less than first place that assure staying in league. That is impossible for them to catch in last 3 rounds. But still there is some hope for them as they are among teams that gained license for next season and if some team which is in front of them on table doesn't gain it, they will stay. However motivation for playing these last games is apsolute 0. They are recording awful results whole season, at home they are 3-1-11 and 9 lost in row. Just 1 of that matches with only1 gola difference, else was with bigger difference. They are totally in 6 games losing streak and not scoring in last 5. Last 2 matches they were trashed by 2. placed Lommel 0-6 and in last round unbelieveable 9-0 from Virton. In that matches their average age was only 18, so that is practically junior team now.
Virton is place-by-place with Mons and they are fighting to catch 5. position which will gave them chance for promotion through playoff. That spot is only 4 points away. Though they have a lot to get from this match which is about to be easy for them.
In first part of season they met and result was 3-0 for Mons when Mechelen had respectable squad. This smells like another huge home loss. For guests missing second best scorer Loemba, but this shouldn't matter a lot as still it's big difference. I would prefer picking -2,5 asian handicap@2,30, but it's not available so this is good alternative. GL.
