Manchester United and Tottenham collide in the battle for Champions League places and clearly there is no favorite.
United have lately lost at home to Spurs arch rivals Arsenal and Tottenham can pile pressure on Red Devils’ weak defense in a similar way.
Spurs are only three points behind United who currently occupy fourth place and a draw will hugely favor in form Liverpool side.
Van Gaal is likely to make few changes in the starting XI that played against Arsenal last Monday. Rafael should come in as right full back after Valencia’s horrific performance vs Gunners.
Rojo and Young face late fitness tests and if not available, Jones and Smalling should start in central defense with Luke Shaw taking position as left back.
Striker Radamel Falcao did not even feature in the last game and was made to play an U21 game. The Colombian should be given a chance as a lone striker with Rooney playing behind him as he has been success in the 4-2-3-1 formation over the years.
Juan Mata should come back to the starting XI and may play on the right hand side of attack and Januzaj covering the left.
Here is Man United’s probable XI vs Spurs.
