After ending their long trophy drought last season by winning the FA Cup, Arsenal have not progressed one bit.
Despite signing top stars in the summer transfer window, Gunners remain stagnant in Europe and same is the case in the league as well.
Arsenal have not qualified for the last eight of the Champions League since 2008-2009 season when they reached the semi finals. Since then, elimination at the very first hurdle of KO rounds.
Gunners were rocked at home by Monaco who scored 3 away goals at the Emirates making it near impossible task for the North Londoners to turn it around in the second leg.
As far as league is concerned, Wenger’s men were fighting for the title at this time last season. This season, they were never even in the title race and once again look favorite to seal CL qualification finish.
Fans are desperate for progress and top silver ware and are doubting Wenger again for obvious reasons.
Their defensive dilemma remains the same and Arsenal need a strong versatile DM, hence Morgan Schneiderlin is their priority in the summer transfer window.
As per the provided link, the €27.5m rated midfielder is the number one target for Arsenal in the summer. The Frenchman is the star that can bring stability in Arsenal’s midfield and also be the solid presence in front of the back four.
According to Metro, Arsenal will splash huge sum to ensure that Schneiderlin does not move elsewhere.
Other than him, Arsenal must get rid of Mertesacker and bring in another quality central defender in the next window.

Before,Wenger has been blind to know in every tricky game or games with sharp attackers we not per. Man U game,he musn’t start,Chelsea’s game at the Emirate he musn’t and even Liverpool. Too sluggish.
I have said it repeatedly before the season that Wenger’s failure to sign a high quality & strong defensive mid-fielder & failing to replace Vermelin, will put arsenal in serious problems & that is what is happening now. The stability of the team will need five strong experience players; which are; one more centre defender, two defensive mid-fielder, one sharp stricker & a good dependable goal-keeper & some players like Flamini, Diaby, Rocsiky, Ateta & Mertesaker should be sold, to give space for new players & you will see arsenal will be back to start contesting very strongly again. Gunners 4ever.
For many years Wenger has had an aversion to physical power in midfield and all over the pitch. We are packed with midfield skinny dwarves and /or injury prone ones. Until Wenger retuns to his previous successful formula, mysteriously abandoned around 2006, using monsters like Petit, Viera, Gilberto, Lauren. Campbell rather than timid, workshy, couldn’t care less types like Ozil, nothing will ever improve. Fancy spending 42mill on a coward but not re-signing the brilliant and combative Fabregas. No wonder Mourinho is a serial winner, as Wenger used to be until he bizarrely changed policy. All Managers make transfer mistakes but the great ones move the flops on and admit their mistakes , not endlessly hoping for square pegs to fit round holes. And Diaby is still draining our money. Anyone have any idea why, apart from Wenger, whose love child he must surely be!
