One of the most decorated full backs in world football is likely going to be available on a free transfer next summer.
The Barcelona star has won every trophy possible for the Catalan club and his contract will expire at the end of this season with numerous clubs interested in his signature.
However, Manchester United have been tracking him very closely and as per latest reports, the Red Devils are set to sign a pre-contract agreement with the Brazilian international ahead of a free transfer in the summer window.
The 31 year old Samba star is still a regular in Barcelona’s squad and has featured in 25 games in all competitions for the Spanish giants this season.
Still, as per the provided link, since it became evident that former Sevilla captain will depart, clubs have been eager to sign him and Man United are leading the race.
In the last summer transfer window, Louis van Gaal signed no less than three players who could play as left full back such as the likes of Marcos Rojo of Argentina, Dutch international Daley Blind and Englishman Luke Shaw.
However, the right full back position was not reinforced. Rafael has been inconsistent plus injury prone and the best player for that position as of now has been Valencia.
Alves is still in top form for Barcelona and his addition to the squad will not only improve United’s defense but attach as well as the Brazilian is also renowned for his attacking abilities and thunderous strikes.
