Manchester United have had defensive concerns even before Louis van Gaal joined the club before the start of the season.
Since then, the Dutch manager lured players like Luke Shaw, Marco Rojo, and defensive mid star Daley Blind hoping to improve things.
However, the former Barcelona and Bayern manager has not been able to turn things around as yet.
For worst, United had to deal with injury concerns early on combined with the poor form and Van Gaal had to introduce youngsters like McNair and Blackett in defense to make amends and the duo impressed.
McNair has already signed the contract and lately, Manchester United have sealed new deal for Tyler Blackett as well that will make him earn £20,000 a week, a huge raise.
Van Gaal is delighted to have secured Blackett on a new deal and believes was a significant and part of club’s strategy.
The real question remains, is Blackett the solution to Man United’s never ending defensive concerns. The answer is NO.
The Red Devils have still not replaced legends like Vidic and Ferdinand and when such names are not replaced by quality stars, the progress remains stagnant.
Blackett is a decent prospect for the future but United need a world class center half who can be the leader of defense.
Someone like Hummels will do the job nicely. Whatever it takes, United must sign a top central defender next summer.

Yes of cause it is not the answer but we have the likes of marco rojo , daley blind , smalling and jones this players are good and they are still young and developing to fill that gap and also mcnair is waiting for those gaps . So our failure to get a top quality and experienced defender is not a threat to us .
