Chelsea were supposed to wrap up the deal for Colombian international Juan Cuadrado but a new challenger has come up in the form of Manchester United.
The Red Devils are eager to secure the services of the Fiorentina playmaker who was one of the best players in the World Cup.
Cuadrado provided the highest number of assists in World Cup 2014 to help his side qualify for the last eight and his ability to add both to attack and defense is something both Mourinho and Van Gaal want from his players.
According to reports, Manchester United are closing in to hijack Cuadrado from Chelsea after submitting a €29m bid for the versatile attacker.
As per the provided link, the offer has not yet been accepted or rejected but it is less than the €36m release clause Cuadrado has in his contract.
The question remains, do United need him more or Chelsea?
Mourinho for now has a perfect starter on the right hand side with Willian who is brilliant in attack and tracks back to defend as well. Other than that, Mou is not a huge fan of Salah or Schurrle as it seems from the playing time they have got.
Van Gaal on the other hand needs defenders or midfielders more than a playmaker. However, if he intends to continue playing 3-5-2 system then Cuadrado is perfect for the wingback role in that system.
It will be an intriguing battle between Chelsea and United. We shall see how the saga unfolds.

Cuadrado would be PERFECT for United

My ffut!
Period!
If Man u is to play next season’s champions league then the time is now to bolster our defence and link up midfield and strikers
I hate when all these speculation are been said n nothing is done. Man utd’re interested in virtually all the players bt nothing is done bt if morinho wants a player he gets without sweat. WHAT IS WRONG WITH MANUTD
Most of the transfer hype is generated by newspapers trying to sell papers. However, I disagree with LVG that no interest should be paid to getting new players in this transfer window. That just doesn’t make sense and is an insult to loyal United fans. So, if Hummels or Pogba or Clyne or Ronaldo or other such players were available and wanted to come to United, LVG is saying: “Sorry, we don’t want you this transfer window but keep your interest because we might try to acquire your services in the summer.” That makes me believe LVG is either nuts or has been told by the Glazers that no funds are available to get any new players or the newspapers have gotten LVG’s comments wrong.” What I’m hoping for is a couple of new quality players transferring to United before the window shuts. In the end, actions are the clearest indicator of the true status of matters.
