Arsenal supporters have been waiting for the arrival of new central defender and the wait is finally about to end.
Villareal and Gunners have agreed a deal for £15m rated Brazilian international Gabriel Paulista to join the Emirates.
As per the provided link, Arsenal playmaker Joel Campbell has completed his loan to move to Villareal as part of the deal.
Gunners just have to complete a work permit and the new defender will be raring to go. Here is how he may line up in the Arsenal starting XI.
Gunners mainly needed a central defensive cover since they do have depth on the flanks but with Debuchy out injured for long, Paulista can fill the full back position as well if needed.
Wenger confirmed that Paulista is a versatile talent as he stated:
“Paulista is a central defender but he can also play on the flanks.”
“He is tall and pacy. He has a good chance to adapt to English football. I see good potential in him.”
“The deal could be done before the FA Cup draw [on Monday].”
Sky believe Paulista lacks Arsenal flair because he does not have that passing skills to fit in the system.
Only time will tell that but Gunners will be alright if he does his primary job well that is be strong at the back.
