Iran is not among the big favorites for the title, but the truth is, that Carlos Queiroz has a team, capable to surprise any team on this tournament.

Iran is a team with excellent defense, but the Lions are not doing so well in attack and rarely manage to score more than one goal in their games (in fact only once in the last ten games / 3-4-3 7-7).

Bahrain, on the other hand, is among the outsiders on this tournament, although this team showed good football in its last two friendlies, winning 4-1 against Saudi Arabia and 1-0 against Jordan.

Like Iran, the main strength of this team is in defense, but while Carlos Queiroz can count on some experienced players up front, the majority of the players in this team are from the local league, whose quality is mildly low.
