Van Gaal Determined to Sign €36m Superstar for Man United

Louis Van GaalHaving secured three back to back wins in PL and only conceded single goal, United are headed in the right direction.
However, their defense is still fragile and any quality opposition can rip them apart.
Van Gaal has settled the attack well for the Red Devils. Midfield needs reinforcement but has improved after the return of Fellaini and Carrick. Defense is the main dilemma left.
In such a scenario the Dutch manager is looking to secure the services of a highly rated central defender in the January transfer window.
According to reports, Louis van Gaal is determined to sign Uruguayan international and Atletico Madrid superstar Diego Godin.
As per the provided link, Godin’s release clause is around €36 million and that sum will not really be a problem for United.
Many may argue that the mentioned fee is a little too much for a 29 year old defender but Godin is at his very best and is worth it.
United have also been interested in German international Mats Hummels and it will be fair to say that any one of these two star players will hugely improve Man United’s defense with their leadership at the back.
Both Atletico and Dortmund are in the Champions League and that can be the major obstacle for the Red Devils to secure their services in the winter window.
Nevertheless, signing top central defender should be the priority for Manchester United.

Dortmund are rock bottom in the Bundesliga and their captain might not consider leaving in the worst of times. May help till summer.
Whereas Atletico are in the title race and are doing good in Champions League as well. Godin should not be any hurry either. United face a huge dilemma in winter to sign a top defender, they may have to settle with a signing from PL
