The Red Devils might have hit form at the right time but they are still far from the level of world class teams.
To reach that level again, United need more world class arrivals in the winter transfer window.
Louis van Gaal must spend big to sign top players in the January window and make sure that United do earn the Champions League spot and build a team capable of challenging the Europe’s elite next season.
They already have top quality attacking players at disposal but midfield and more importantly defense require world class players badly.
In such a scenario, Manchester United are planning to sign three world class players to improve their defense in the winter window.
According to reports, here are players.
- Mats Hummels (Dortmund)
- Diego Godin (Atletico Madrid)
- Victor Valdes (Free-Agent)
Hummels was the best defender of the tournament in Germany’s World Cup winning campaign but Dortmund are struggling at the moment.
Diego Godin has been the leader of Atletico Madrid’s defense for quite some time and United lack someone like him in their defense.
The idea of having both Hummels and Godin in United’s central defense is mouth watering.
Valdes has been brilliant over the years for Barcelona, will he be the same after his injury, no one can tell but he is proven quality.

Mind you. These 2 defenders their Clubs are in the UEFA Champs.I doughty if in January they can be available for SVS to MU.
Man U should forget about Hummels and Godin. Man U should sign Varane from Real Madrid. The price of Hummel will be too expensive.
Diego Godin +Hummels+Varane – Valdez pls
Matts Humells was a good defender at World Cup, his current form doesn’t match what the Germans are demanding for him, Varane is a better option for United.
