English premier league clubs have been handed a major blow in pursuit of German international Marco Reus.
The Dortmund playmaker was linked with top clubs all around Europe and reports suggest that the European champions have won the race to secure his services.
Reus was voted as the best German player last season but failed to make the World Cup winning squad as he got injured right before the tournament started.
Dortmund have lost one or more of their key players in every transfer window in the past few years and currently Klopp’s men are in the relegation zone.
According to Daily Star, Marco Reus has finally agreed deal with Spanish giants Real Madrid and will officially sign for them next summer.
Madrid already have world class playmakers in the form of Ronaldo, Bale, Rodriguez, Isco yet they want Reus. Where will he fit in? only time will tell.
English clubs will have to look elsewhere now. Manchester United had Reus as one of their main targets but they certainly are targeting other attacking players as well.
As published previously, Manchester United are targeting capture of Argentine and Benfica duo Gaitan and Perez.
Having lost out on Reus, Manchester United should now focus on signing the Benfica pair but it might be hard to secure both in the winter window.
Not to forget, United’s main concerns are in midfield and defensive department and that is where they must sign reinforcements in January transfer market.
