New York Rangers have relied heavily on their first choice goalkeeper Lundqvist so far this season. However, after mediocre results they have decided to start giving more playing time for their backup goalie Talbot who is going to start against St Louis Blues.
St Louis are in a four game winning streak and especially the duo Lehterä-Tarasenko has been on fire as of late. Their captain David Backes has returned to lineup which provides them more depth on offense. Forwards Oshie and Stastny remain sidelined for the Blues.
New York Rangers received some bad news in previous game as their key defenseman Ryan McDonagh suffered a shoulder injury and will be out for three-to-four weeks. This exposes their defense as Dan Boyle and Kevin Klein are also injured.
