Manchester United’s chosen one David Moyes did not work according to plan for the Red Devils as they went from champions to finish out of European places.
The former Evertonian was then showed the door to bring in one of the most experienced managers Louis van Gaal.
Fresh from his World Cup heroics, Van Gaal found out that United are a bigger mess than he could imagine. The results have started to improve and Van Gaal may prove to be good for the Devils.
How long will he last is another matter but Red Devils perhaps have a brilliant news as far as the next potential manager is concerned.
Two times Champions League winner with Barcelona and current Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardila revealed his desire to manage Manchester United one day.
Spanish journalist Martí Perarnau states:
“The day after beating Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final, Guardiola and Estiarte travelled to Manchester to watch their next opponent in action.”
“It was May 4, 2011, and the pair sat together in the stands of Old Trafford watching Sir Alex Ferguson’s team beat Schalke 4-1. Once again Pep had turned to his friend and said: ‘I like this atmosphere. I could see myself coaching here one day.”
Many United supporters would think that he would have been the best choice after Alex Ferguson but it wasn’t to be. Pep’s Bayern ousted Manchester United from the Champions League last season and the Red Devils have to wait at least a year to return to the competition.
