Arsenal were desperately looking to sign a quality defensive midfielder in the summer transfer window but failed.
Players like, William Carvalho and Sami Khedira were heavily linked but Arsenal could not agree any deal.
It will be fair to say that Gunners are mainly suffering in the new season because they lack a quality DM at the moment, someone who can break play well and also provide solid cover in front of the back four that surely needs support,
Lately, there have been positive indications that Sami Khedira will be the one to solve that dilemma once and for all by joining Arsenal in January.
The major obstacle in the summer that prevented him from joining the Gunners was the wages. Mirror reported that Khedira demanded £150,000 a week salary.
The above mentioned wages were not acceptable as per Arsenal’s wage structure as even their record signing Mesut Ozil earns less than that.
Now, according to latest reports, Cut price Arsenal deal has been sealed with the Gunners and the player will be joining the Emirates from Real Madrid in the winter transfer window.
As per the provided Metro link, Khedira is now ready to join Arsenal for lowered wages of just £100,000.
£100,000 for a player as goof as Sami Khedira is a massive bargain. On the other hand, since his contract with the European champions is also expiring next summer, Arsenal can agree a cut price fee with Real as well.

I hope this deal shouldn’t be thwarted for any reason whatsoever! The lack of a very good DM is causing arsenal, the only football club I loved, too mush price.
Take the risk and sack wenger and all will be ok in Arsenal .
Just what we need another injury prone player on big wages to warm out treatment table.Although ours does not get much time to cool down considering the number of injured players we have.We need big strong players who will spend more time on the pitch playing and actually earning his big wages.Surely there are other players who are not so fragile.Anyone else agree?
Alfie, I agree with you on acquiring another injury prone player in Khedira. If you already Diaby, Debuchy, Giroud, Ramsey etc on long term injuries, It would be wise to avoid Khedira. We would rather spend a little more on William Carvalho. In addition, you have players that are on the fringe like Rosicky, Podosky, Campbell, Coquelin etc who rarely play.
Such an injury list exhausts the slots allowable (is it 25 players?).
arsenal is becoming an injury club
