Why Owen Believes that Chelsea are the Real Deal

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker believes that Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea are the strongest team and the side to beat next season.
Blues could only finish the season in third place and without winning any trophy but they have seemed to overcome all the weaknesses this summer by signing much needed top class talent.
Michael Owen claimed:

“Chelsea’s weak point from last season was obviously scoring goals and having a reliable striker up front.
“They’ve never properly replaced Drogba from the first time around. He’s back, but I can’t imagine that he is going to be quite the player that he was, although he could weigh in with a few goals.”
“Costa is a sensational signing and he should be scoring at least 20 goals next season. As it stands, Chelsea are the team that everyone has got to beat.”

The dilemma was obvious, not even a single striker could reach double figures in the premier league as Mourinho was left frustrated.
Signing of Diego Costa is perhaps the perfect capture to fix the problem once and for all. The fans will be hoping that he does not turn out to become another big money flop.
Adding to that, the addition of one of the best midfielders around in Cesc Fabregas is another top signing. The Spanish international is the right man to replace legendary Lampard at Chelsea.
One of the most consistent fullbacks, Azpilicueta had to play most part of last season as left back despite being a natural right back. He did perform well but Mourinho has brought the experienced natural left sided full back in Filipe Luis to take control.
To sum it all up, Blues have utilized the transfer window in the perfect manner to setup the squad for next season and will be the team to beat with Mourinho more motivated.
