Manchester United are running out of time to sign top quality stars as the season will start next weekend.
The Red Devils may have played brilliantly under the management of Louis van Gaal up till now but that was pre-season.
Everyone attached with United is well aware of the fact that the club is short of quality stars in various positions.
United have targeted key players to reinforce squad but majority of them will play Champions league football with their current clubs, the likes of Hummels, Vidal and Di Maria to name a few.
However, Van Gaal and United are adamant and after investing so much time, they are still pushing for the mentioned players.
According to latest reports, Manchester United are to close in with a club record £50million bid to seal deal for Real Madrid star Di Maria.
The Argentine international was one of they key stars for Los Blancos last season as the Spanish giants won Cup and Champions League double.
However, with Bale and Ronaldo around, the former Benfica winger was not a regular starter and now that Real has also signed Toni Kroos from Bayern and James Rodriguez from Monaco, the best option for Di Maria is to depart.
Paris Saint-Germain pulled out of the race to secure his services and for now only Manchester United remain the club interested.
Signing Di Maria without offering CL football will be major coup for the Red Devils. Can they lure him to Old Trafford?

quite agree with you phil. With only 5 days till the new season starts we need a settled team.
The question here is, do RM really want to sell Maria’s Angel? Reports indicate utd launching 50M bid, but there is no news out of RM confirming the same.
Personally I don’t see UTD signing anyone in this transfer window
Man Utd will 100% sign at least 1 more player it will probably be 2 or 3 more additions, they know champions league is a must and van Gaal will want to compete for everything no doubt. For MU to do that and guarantee top 4, signings will be made. Personally i think it is almost a cert that more money will be spent, there will be 2 or 3 to come in with the same to go. As for Di Maria he will be a player MU want ( he is quality ) but history shows they won’t pay more than they value the player. MU will sign there further targets at the same time, as they did with Shaw and Herrera, Van Gaal has his own squad to mould then.
He is coming! Real madrid has no place for him. Plus the fact that united has managed to sign Vidal n Cuardado Shows that they are capable if bringing anyone to old traford
really it has been so long we cant wait to see ma heart trying to adopt any foreign materials like Vidal, Di maria and cuadrado….. before we start league and then continue for Blind, Der Vrij and any other defender before window closes…….
it is the highest time for van Gaal to take up the matter himself and ensure that Di Maria is among the first eleven on saturday . we are tired of woods empty promises that do not bore fruits.
