A brace from Colombian and Monaco superstar James Rodriguez sealed a World Cup quarter final place for his nation for the first time in the history.
Blues for the Blues as the teams in yellow progressed yesterday and when hosts and favorites Brazil needed luck to qualify, Colombians did it with sheer brilliance, especially from one man, James Rodriguez.
It can be safely said that last night’s contest between Colombia and Uruguay was a James Rodriguez show as the 22 year old was unstoppable.
He probably scored the goal of the tournament with a brilliant chest control and stunning volley to open the scoring. Second was a tap in from close range.
Uruguay had no bite without their talisman Luis Suarez and they missed him big time as no one could unlock Colombia’s rigid defense.
