No player has been that heavily linked with Manchester United after the end of last season than Southampton’s Luke Shaw.
The England teenager is on duty with the national side for the FIFA World Cup but United fans can be upbeat that the talented star will join the Red Devils before the start of next season.
Several times it has been reported that $45m rated defender is close sealing deal with Manchester United.
Once again, there is another report that perhaps confirms that it is only a matter of time before Shaw will join the English giants.
According to BBC, Shaw already told the Southampton management after the final game of the season that he is willing to join Manchester United.
Saints want to keep him for obvious reasons but are resigned to sell him with United ready to offer mammoth sum and the player himself looking for exit.
However, as per the provided link, Southampton first want to appoint a new manager to replace Mauricio Pochettino and then will look after the future of star players.
Saints have already lost veteran Rickie Lambert to Liverpool and now face fear that Shaw and Lallana are also likely to depart and they will have to start more than a few new players next year.
Nevertheless, Southampton will have enough funds to find quality stars and the new manager will have time to gel them in his system.
On the other hand, just the Shaw deal will not solve United’s problems, they need several quality players to bounce back next season.
