Chelsea are one of the busiest clubs in the transfer market already as Mourinho looks to seal deals early on.
Having already sold David Luiz for a huge sum, Blues have huge transfer kitty to bring in quality players.
One player who has been heavily linked with Stamford Bridge move is Atletico Madrid’s star striker Diego Costa.
According to reports, the Spanish international has completed his medical ahead of a €39 million move to the Blues.
For the past few years, Chelsea have missed a prolific goal scorer upfront and the addition of Costa will surely be a major boost. Former Chelsea star Juan Mata who joined Manchester United in January surely believes that Costa will be brilliant in England.
Mata stated:
“I don’t know what he [Costa] is going to do, but I think he would be a good forward in English football. He’s powerful, physically very strong.”
“In English football he should have success. He’s currently a player for Atletico, so I believe the player deserves that respect at least at this moment.”
Mata was arguably Chelsea’s best player in the last 3 years having won two player of the year awards but did not fit in Mourinho’s style of play and departed.
Blues supporters will be hoping that Costa does not end up being a big money flop like Torres and Shevchenko.
