Manchester United are suddenly back in for German international and Bayern Munich star Toni Kroos.
Previously, it was suggested that new manager Louis van Gaal is not interested in signing his former star. Moreover, even Kroos claimed that he wants to stay at Bayern.
Now, lately when reports started to come out that Kroos might be leaving the German champions for Real Madrid, Manchester United have revived interest as well.
In fact, they might just be one step ahead with their manager already in contact with the player.
According to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial, Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has already contacted Toni Kroos about the possibility of transfer.
However, it still remains a race that Manchester United are perhaps destined to lose for obvious reasons.
Toni Kroos did claim that United were never on his mind and even after Van Gaal’s contact, the option of joining European champions Real Madrid is always going to be more intriguing.
United are by no means a small club but a club not featuring in Champions league is normally avoided by top players.
As far as the wages are concerned then Real Madrid can surely match every package that Manchester United can offer him.
For now, it will be fair to say that the Spanish side is favorite to lure Kroos whose contract will expire at the end of next season.
