Germany will take on Portugal in today’s big game of the World Cup and it will be fair to say that the 3 time world champions are favorites for this one.
The Kaisers defeated Portugal in Euro 2012 as well with Ronaldo in brilliant form. This time, the Portuguese captain is not even 100% fit and it will be intriguing to see how he can influence the game if he plays.
Joachim Low had to deal with a major blow in the warm up games as top playmaker Marco Reus left the squad because of injury. Still, Germans have a lot of depth in the attacking department and have all the firepower to beat Portugal.
As far as the strongest XI is concerned, Arsenal trio of Podolski, Ozil and Mertesacker are likely to start.
Klose needs 2 goals to break Brazilian legend Ronaldo’s all time World Cup scoring record but expect Bayern’s Muller to start. Thomas Muller won the Golden boot in 2010

Jesus! We have got more players in the German team than in the England team. Come think of it, we’ll probably have more in the French team also.
Oxil and Podolski will have an impressive performance today. I can’t wait to see them and Per in the German colours.
