Arsenal are desperate to reinforce their squad this summer and fight for the title next season.
Looking for top players, Arsenal want one of their own Carlos Vela back at the Emirates Stadium.
The Mexican international joined Gunners in 2005 but was mostly loaned out and rarely given opportunities. In 2011, he was loaned to Real Sociedad and a year later the move was made permanent by the Spanish side as he showed great form. Since then he has been brilliant.
Last season, Vela netted 21 goals and provided 14 assists as well. With him constantly improving, Arsenal suddenly want him back.
As per reports, Arsenal have already triggered his £3.2million buyback clause for Carlos Vela but the Sociedad star has snubbed them.
According to his team mate, French international Antoine Griezmann, Vela is looking to stay. He claimed:
“I’m talking to you in Spanish because of Carlos. He’s a top player; there’s no-one better. We have a great relationship on and off the pitch because we’re good friends.”
“He’s relaxed. He’s already signed a new contract and he’s looking happy.”
It will be fair to say that Arsenal are deservedly snubbed. Vela has been under contract with Arsenal for 6 years, he was loaned to 4 clubs and could only feature in 29 league games for the Gunners.
Yes, he did not show top form for Arsenal but was never provided a fair chance with consistent run of games as well.
Nevertheless, Arsenal have the funds to lure other top players and a top quality striker must be priority.

Oh man, this article is clueless… Arsenal triggered the buy back clause, and promptly sold Vela back to Real Sociedad… It was Arsenal who snubbed Vela, not the other way round…
Genuinely clueless article…
