Since the departure of former gunner captain Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona in 2011, the Arsenal supporters have been hoping for his return.
The Spanish international joined gunners back when he was just 16 years old and stepped up in his teenage days to replace legendary Patrick Vieira.
After 8 long years in North London, Cesc departed for his boyhood club. 3 years on and things have drastically changed for him.
Even after a decent season, Barcelona want Fabregas out of the club and according to renowned Sky Sports personality Guillem Ballague, the Catalan giants will accept an offer of 40 million Euros (buy-out clause) for the La Roja midfielder.
For weeks, it has been reported in the media that Fabregas might be moving then why on earth have Arsenal not made an official bid to lure him?
The 27 year old star claimed that he does not see himself playing for anyone else but Arsenal and Barcelona. Cesc stated:
“Apart from Arsenal and Barcelona, I don’t see myself playing anywhere else,”
“I will definitely be going back (to Arsenal) whenever I have time to watch games and to see the guys, and you never know in the future, why not?”
“I hope I will stay here (Barcelona) for a very long time, and maybe even retire here, but why not? In life, you can never say never, and if there is one place to go back to, it is Arsenal for sure.”
Barcelona have made it clear they do not want him and will sell to anyone who can meet his buy out clause. Manchester United might be willing to do it but since Cesc wants Arsenal, Gunners should be considered favorites IF and only IF they are ready to splash 40m.
For now, Arsenal have not made any official inquiry about Fabregas, United did last season and are in for him this year as well.
Gunners already have central midfielders like Ramsey, Wilshere, Arteta and Flamini. May be splashing 40m for a midfielder may not make sense to Wenger when he does have few quality ones around and also does not have a habit of spending heavily in transfer windows. Not to forget, signing top striker is the main priority.
In such a scenario, if Man United meet his buy-out clause and Arsenal don’t then it will be safe to say that Fabregas will move to Old Trafford
Yes, he loves Barcelona, yes, he loves Arsenal but the former does not want him, and if it is the same case with the latter then no one can blame Cesc for joining the only side who are ready to welcome him as he will have no other option even if that club is not playing Champions League.
Manchester United are the ones who want him badly and if he joins them, the outcry of gunner supporters is inevitable but then they should only direct their anger towards Arsenal and not Fabregas.

I’d rather Toni Kroos but Fabregas would do the job alright: MUFC 20,
Arsenal receive 50% of his sale and have a first refusal option. This means that his his price is 40m the real cost to arsenal is only 20m
Don;t know how much of that rumor is true, Arsenal will only get 50%, if Cesc is sold to any other club, else they will have to splash full 40m to sign him…
It is 50% of the profit arsenal will receive after what barca paid for him, i.e. if barca paid 30 million for him and sell him for 40 million then the 10 million profit to be shared equally.
He will be surplus to requirement in the present of inform Ramsey and Wilshere,Arteta and Flamini are all giving out there best to Arsenal.
