Both Manchester United and Chelsea are in the market for a new left back this summer and their key target has been Southampton’s Luke Shaw.
The teenage star has been sensational for the Saints this season and made the PFA team of the year for this brilliant performances this season.
Shaw is rated around €36m which is a very high price tag for a youngster and as per the latest reports, it looks likely that the England international is heading to Old Trafford and not Stamford Bridge.
According to Spanish source El Confidencial, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho’s prime target for LB position was Shaw but the scenario is that his deal to Man United is almost done with the Red Devils having worked in advance to sign him.
Therefore, Mourinho is now focusing on Atletico Madrid left back Filipe Luis as per the provided link.
Chelsea are already interested in luring Atletico’s star striker Diego Costa, may as well get Courtois back from them and now want Luis as well.
The 28 year old has been brilliant for the Spanish side been solid at the back and has also provided numerous assists as well.
Blues are ready to offer as much as €20m to hire the services of Luis.
However, do they really need him as Azpilucueta has arguably been their most consistent player at left back position.

Shaw is a growing talent, Manchester United need him.
shaw 36£m if ever financial FairPlay was needed. He’s not worth half that. Of course according to united 8m rated fellaini is worth 27m…..
€30m is too big for an ordinary left back of 18yrs. There are other better options
Deal almost done? Dream on. No Saints player is anywhere near leaving St Marys. A very recent club statement said no approach by any club has been made for any of their squad! The usual speculation. Reference the transfer fee – whilst he may not be worth that, that’s the kind of figure any club will have to pay to prise him away because Saints do not need to sell. As for him being G an ordinary full back – you’re having a chuckle.
Reece James! Why does no one give this guy a look in, he’s 18, he’s a left back, he’s been a big part of the best defence of the u-21 league, and he’s a nominee for reserve player of the year!
Steve Newbury, you dream on your team owes millions, shaw.allana, and more will leave st Mary’s,man u are the biggest and the best, with a billion dollar kit deal in the bag,yes do I Hear,Liverpool,Chelsea,Madrid,or those scum bags in blue NO,all of you are where you are cause Man U did not perform this season, make no mistake nest season we will trash the lot of you,by the way,our new shirt sponser could wipe your depts clean, so GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s too much money for such a young player
infact recal this, its not till its done, the price is higher, its to fade away clubs but quality is expensive, u cant get him wit coins, the lad is only 18 but he has already stormed the epl.
£25m not bad coz he will give14yrs quality service to the club, haters, kip silent. the boy is joining utd soon.

The boy is too expensive. Let Man United utilise Alexander Büttner. It seems like Edward Woodward is there to over spend.
the price tag is ofcouse very much considering that man u need to rebuilt a strong team next season.why cant they luk 4 a cheapper choice and spend the balance to fix their other problems.well,im only advicing.up chelseafc
I like shaw. He is a good player but d price is too much.
SAF and his staff really paid good prices for players but since moyes paid that crazy price for fellaini, its like a new starting level price for buying players.Pure madness but that is how it goes to stay in the game i gues.
Southampton does nt want to sell him, but if they do, they don’t want to regret it either. The price is so inflated.
