Chelsea failed to win a single silverware this season as Jose Mourinho could not have hoped for a worse return.
However, Blues are well set for future and next season, they will be major contenders to win every competition.
As per usual, under Mourinho, Chelsea had a rock solid defense, the best in the premier league. A lot of credit goes to the brilliant defenders and their captain John Terry.
The veteran retired England star was one of the best defenders in the league last season ans still pivotal for Chelsea, hence the club has rewarded him with a new contract.
The Blues skipper has signed a new one year deal with the club and that’s a brilliant news for Chelsea FC and the supporters. Terry claimed:
“I’m delighted to have signed an extension to my contract with Chelsea taking me into my 20th year with the club,”
“I’d like to thank the fans and club for their continued support, and the manager who was instrumental for me last season.”
The foundation has been built and in such a scenario it would have been a bad decision to let the leader leave.
The 33 year old has won numerous accolades during his time at Stamford Bridge and will look to end his Blues career with a brilliant season next year.
Chelsea had their chances to win silverware but blew it later on in the season. However, Mourinho and his men will look to bounce back big time next season.
