Not so long ago, Manchester United were a club feared not only in England but also all over the world.
Now, after the departure of Alex Ferguson and arrival of David Moyes, the legendary club has become a laughing stock.
Moyes has taken less than a year to convert a champion side into a loser one and only he has the talent to do it.
During Ferguson’s farewell speech, he asked the fans to back the new manager to the fullest, but the relation with Moyes has reached boiling point.
United are 7th in the league and the chances of finishing in top 4 are near zero. That of winning Champions League is in minus.
A huge chunk of United fans want Moyes out, yet Ferguson has come up and stated that Moyes needs more time and United will be fine. This is baffling from Ferguson. Why does he want United to drown more, because Moyes is hopeless.
Ferguson claimed:
“They (United) will be all right,” “It’s early days and there have been a lot of changes.”
“He (Moyes) needs time. I was there for 27 years, so with a new manager, it takes time. But they’ll be OK.”
OK? Even he is not confident that under Moyes United will be fantastic. Yes, Ferguson had difficulties during his tenure at the start, but he joined the club when United were in turmoil.
However, Moyes has taken over a champion side that won the title last year, then to end up with humiliation in every competition cannot be forgiven.
May be if he had shown even one sign that he can manage United well, fans would have had some hope, but without doubt, Moyes is a clueless manager.
