Mohamed Salah was really excited when he signed for Blues in the winter transfer window and still thinks that the move will be fantastic.
However, the Egyptian star has not made a single start for the London club since Blues paid $18m to hijack his move to Liverpool and hire his services.
Salah says that he is hoping to score for Chelsea. He claimed:
“I know it will not be easy to play every game for Chelsea because we have so many very good players in my position, but I hope to show how hard I work and then we will see,”
“This move is a fantastic thing for me – going to a big team like this is fantastic for anyone – and I hope I can play here for a long time and have a good career.
“I hope I can now start to score for Chelsea, not against Chelsea.
“Also, the way Chelsea play – with three creative players behind the striker – is like the tactic we played at Basel, so 4-2-3-1 is normal for me – it is the same tactic. I can play in any of the three positions but I really like playing on the right, because I can go inside onto my left foot.”
Guess the 21 year old former Basel star is still hoping but perhaps hoping too much.
Since joining the club in January, Salah has only played a total of 15 minutes of premier league football, making only two substitute appearances.
Other than that, he has played 45 minutes in the FA Cup against Manchester City and that is that.
With so many stars fighting for attacking midfield positions and few returning from loan spells as well. Is Salah hoping against hope at Chelsea? Will he ever get to prove himself in the premier league with the Blues.
