Arsenal are facing more than a few injury concerns lately but one of their star players will be back for the vital tie against Liverpool at Anfield.
Jack Wilshere’s return has given Arsene Wenger major boost and the England international is going to be the most significant player if Arsenal are to win the midfield battle.
Liverpool have a full flowing attack and they were in fantastic form before the fixture against Arsenal at the Emirates.
However, Gunners strolled past them mainly because they dominated the midfield battle that helped them control the game.
In the last game versus Palace, Gunners tried Alex Oxlade Chamberlain as a central midfielder alongside Arteta in the first half. However that did not prove fruitful.
For the second half, Wenger shifted the formation from 4-2-3-1 to 4-1-4-1 inevitably pushing Ox forward to get the best out of him.
Wenger was able to go all out attack but that playing at home against a weak side. A similar scenario can be risky against Liverpool who are a completely different prospect at Anfield.
With Ramsey out injured and Flamini suspended for the game against the merseysiders, Wilshere’s presence along-with Arteta will be the key to dominate midfield again.
Chamberlain did not have that drive and more importantly awareness in midfield that is naturally gifted in Wilshere.
Gerrard has been performing the role of quarterback quite well for the past two games but we have seen him vulnerable against Villa and Wilshere will be the one responsible to unsettle the England captain.
Last season Arsenal won 2-0 at Anfield but things have largely changed since then. Can Suarez and Sturridge work their magic this time around or will it be Arsenal as victors again, we shall see.
