Not so long ago, the fixtures between Chelsea and Manchester United were of high importance in the title race.
It is probably the same story for Chelsea but the Red Devils are far far behind and their main target should be to qualify for next year’s Champions League.
Here are the three key battles that may decide the outcome of the game between Chelsea and Manchester United.
Hazard vs Januzaj
Eden Hazard has been Chelsea’s best player this season, whenever they have needed inspiration or goal, the Belgian star has provided it and he will be the major threat for the English Champions.
On the other hand, the find of the season, 18 year old boy Adnan Januzaj has impressed beyond expectations. In the absence of Rooney and Van Persie, Januzaj has shown maturity and led United’s attack. Everything is coming through him lately and he will again be the key man for the Devils.
Terry vs Welbeck
John Terry is revitalized under the management of Jose Mourinho and is leading the team like days of Mourinho’s first tenure.
The Chelsea captain will have the responsibility of stopping compatriot Welbeck who has been in fantastic form since RvP got injured.
Cech vs De Gea
The battle between the two of the best goalies in the league is going to be intriguing. With home advantage and United with major injury concerns, Cech will hope the visitors do not threat much.
On the other hand, De Gea knows that United are up against one of the best attacks in the league plus United’s defense has not been consistent. He will have to be at his best if United are to win against Blues.
