Arsenal supporters will be more than glad to see Spurs struggling to find form under Andre Villas Boas as this time the gap is massive with Tottenham finding themselves 8 points behind their rivals.
Gunners recovered from a 7 point deficit to over-take Spurs last season. Fair to say, it is highly unlikely that Spurs can do something like that especially in their horrific form.
Nevertheless, Tottenham’s main target is to qualify for the Champions league and that target is still very much within their reach.
Even after recent troubles, they are only 4 points behind 2nd place and 2 behind 4th. Still after their shocking 6-0 defeat against Manchester City, fans were furious to an extent that they wanted AVB sacked.
Understandable in the heat of the moment but do Tottenham Supporters really want AVB sacked?
The reasons are obvious. Even after spending more than 100 million Euros on new stars, Spurs have only scored 9 league goals. Liverpool’s Suarez and Sturridge have equaled that tally and City’s Aguero has surpassed it already.
They have kept 7 clean sheets in the league, which is remarkable but other than that, there are mostly negatives including a negative goal difference.
Perhaps the biggest reason is that after signing proven quality players, Villas Boas has been unable to get the best out of them, or it must be said, not even the best out of a single player.
Soldado, Lamela, Eriksen, Paulinho are top top players but are not functioning well together. Spurs are still not in real disaster but if AVB cannot fix the mentioned problems soon, then he may as well have to depart.
