Liverpool tried hard to sign a top quality attacking midfielder in the summer transfer market but failed to lure the likes of Willian and Mkhitaryan.
In the end, Brendan Rodgers opted to sign Chelsea’s Victor Moses on loan. However, according to reports, Reds are still looking for a classy playmaker who would amplify their strength and help them achieve their objectives.
According to Turkish Football News, Liverpool are interested in signing Atletico Madrid star Arda Turan who has a release clause of €40m.
The Turkish international has been linked with Reds quite a few times but they never made a serious offer for the player who is in fact a Liverpool fan. Back in 2010, Turan claimed:
“As I always mention, Liverpool attracts me because of their tradition. In Europe, I am a Liverpool supporter, so if I go to play in Europe, I would like to play for them.”
As per his agent, Turan wished to play in the premier league. Even Manchester United are interested in luring him after failing in summer.
However, it is likely that if Liverpool show serious intent, they can take advantage of the fact that Turan is Reds supporter and can sign him.
If he moves this winter, he will be cup tied in the Champions League anyways. Moreover, Liverpool are in second place and have a brilliant chance to qualify for next year’s competition. Signing like versatile Turan can surely help in that mission.

It is true we should have signed him when he would only have cost us 10 million but not now at 40 million when there are others whom we can buy for less. This is a mistake we made in the past and we do not need to revisit them now at a cost so dear. YNWA
