Manchester United Leading Chase for €31m La Liga Star

Ever Banega Argentina ValenciaArsenal have Mikel Arteta pulling the strings in the midfield. The Spaniard was one of the most important players for David Moyes once.
Now the Manchester United manager wants to sign the man he believes is little bit like Arteta because of his possession keeping and passing ability.
The player in discussion is 25 years old Argentine Ever Banega and according to TalkSport, Red Devils are leading the chase to sign the talented Valencia player.
Although, Arsenal are also linked but they have the likes of quality players such as Flamini, Arteta, Ramsey, Wilshere etc to cover the central midfield position and do not really need another.
However, Manchester United are badly in need of creativity from central midfield and Banega can solve that problem.
Moyes tried to sign him during his Everton days but failed and Man United’s manager is a big admirer of the La liga star who has a release clause of €31m. He stated:

“He has very good ability and is a little bit similar to Mikel Arteta in lots of ways in that he can retain the ball and pass it.”

As Valencia failed to qualify for Europe’s elite competition, United can utilize him in the Champions league knock out stages if they can somehow sign him in the January transfer window.
He is one of the most important players at Mestalla and the Spanish club are likely to ask for a hefty sum to let him go.
Whether or not David Moyes will be ready to splash the cash on the Argentine midfielder, only time will tell.

Never heard of him. Its all very well picking up players who fly under the radar but theres usually a good reason why the big clubs rarely buy these players. Better to pay a bit more for proven quality like Gundogan and Bender who do the business at the top level in the ECL and for their national teams. Matic is another worth a look.

    • If you don’t know him then you cant really judge him. Banega has been linked with a move to many top clubs. if Matic is worth a look then Banega is worth two.

While I agree with your point about not being able o judge he did point out exactly what you counter point was Not to mentionone of the things that makes this article stupid is that the write leading the chase for him as if others are interested. Face it Man United’s run is looking pretty much over. Fergie taped up with team for the last 3 years with quick fixes like RVP and keeping hold on Ronney and so fourth but now that he’s gone that transition that Man U fans keep telling themselves that there in, is exactly that a transition but the transition is from big title contenders to mid table team and if yyou are lucky it will turn back around for you becoming top 4 again in a few years like it seemingly has with Liverpool. But than again in Liverpools case whether you British fans want to admit it or not its ur owners you have made it possible

The glazers are the main reason this team is gone down hill! they have pocketed over 600 million in the last six years FACT. The glazers a mercenary PLUS I find this an ignorant comment towards mid table teams. You are a big team hater! probably not very football knowledgeable as there are plenty of teams that dip and rise. Fergie was lucky last year in the sense that they got RVP and he hasn’t done anything with the midfield for years relying on Scholes and Giggs. I actually feel that Moyes has inherited a mediocre team and by mediocre I mean amazing attack really poor midfield and thanks to the poor mid field the ful backs are over pressured. Moyes doesn’t need a new army of players but he does need a new midfield one that has players making runs into the box as Carrick Felleni (similar to Fletcher) are defensive players. Young and Anderson are a waste of space and Cleverly is a squad player not a first team regular. We have a great left winger now in Januzaj and we need two players that score double figures a season and who aren’t one dimensional (no offense evra) that makes good link up play with the forwards. We should play Kagawa Januzaj every match and Kagawa playing just off RVP and push rooney to attacking mid field and if he doesn’t like it tuff shit. Unitil we get a Paul Scholes replacement we will struggle. I don’t know much about Benega but Matic is another defensive minded player . We lack flair since Ronaldo left in midfield we lack Creativity since Rooney was pushed back into a front role and we lack so much of everything with Paul gone. As for your useless excuse of a comment I have nothing else to add. Arsenal haven’t won anything for years Chelsea have been going through a transition period for 6 years. City didnt win anything for 25 years and I’m glad they are doing well they are a great club with great supporters and now a great team and that’s coming from a united fan! So on your way with the band wagon buddy your just another boring fan NOT a true supporter of football.

i have watched hm played several tyms for valencia n i knw he is a very gud talent to add to united squared bt i am sick n tired of united transfer rumour are we buying all d players on d paper n at d end of d window none will b seen wearing our red jesey?

I think he’s a really good player, he can add quality to United midfield. He’s a kind of top player we need in the squad, he cost valencia a hefty sum of €17m from Argentine local league, that shows he’s a quality player. Moreover I have watched him played many times , he’s a real deal .

It gladdens the heart when your players are being used as a measure for transfer. After the Dortmund win and with the good run of form, let’s see where we’ll be by January. But i know we’ll still be topping the table by then and all haters will have no choice but not only celebrate the players, but we Gunners as a whole.

We’re sick and tired of rumours. Be serious for ones.

Am a huge fan of Eva Barnega. he’s a world class player! he had a good season in 2009-10 and 2010-11 and i was surprised he did not made it to SA 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP!He’d be a top addition for UNITED.

  8. Alex says:

We r sick n tired of rumours Edward woodward should deliver and act like David Gill was doing,as Ever Benega he is a quality player he can help United and fill the vacuum left by the retired legendary Paul Scholes, he should also try and bring the likes of Nicolas Gaiten, Anders Herrera, and Marco Reus, Man utd do not any more striker but Midfielders, i am a comfirm red devil flesh n blood utd for ever. Alex man utd fan Nigeria CRS.

  9. Kev says:

Isn’t that what carrick does? Retains the ball and passes it on. I mean I’m not saying this lad doesn’t posses talents that carrick doesn’t, but why highlight the ones he does have as reason to sign a different player?
If he added “with defence splitting accuracy” to the end maybe it would make more sense.
I feel Motes has the same addiction to mf as fergie did to strikers. Yet one can carry a season (ala Rooney and Rvp in different seasons, or rvn another, ronaldo another) another sits on the bench (ala Fellaini who I think was bought just for the sake of a signing).
People slate Anderson, yet I’d rather him on the pitch than Fellaini ATM.
Has moyes grasped utd’s transfer needs, i fear no! Has he our ethic, I fear no! Can he judge world class effectively? Maybe I’m being cinical with that one!

  10. Nuruddeen says:

I knew him very well since when he was 18 years and he is authentic player, and he has all the qualities that we need.

  11. MANDELA JOEL says:

i don!t watch him but there are also other quality midfielders out there like gudongun ,reus, gaitan, khedira, toite, modric, isco, vidal, which can easy the problem of utd
