Man United lead Chase, Eye Move for €47m League's Best Star

Nemanja Matic ChelseaManchester United are looking for a top quality midfielder to sign in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Up till now, it looks as if the Red Devils wasted a hefty sum to sign Marouane Fellaini. The supporters expected Belgian to amplify the quality of the squad and provide assistance in both attack and defense.
However, the former Evertonian has been quite average to say the least and hence United still badly need quality in center midfield.
According to reports Manchester United are eyeing move for Benfica’s Nemanja Matic who was awarded as Portuguese league’s best player last season.
United have been monitoring the situation of the former Chelsea midfielder for quite some time and as reported on TalkSport earlier this month, Man United lead chase to sign the Primeira Liga star.
Matic signed for Benfica in 2011 as a deal sweetener as Chelsea swapped him for Luiz and now has become a star for the Portuguese side. Surely Blues must be upset now.
His release clause is a mammoth €47 million but as per the provided Daily Mirror link. Benfica might be ready to accept an offer of around 24 million Euros for the highly rated midfielder.
Clubs like Napoli, Liverpool and Chelsea are also interested in Matic and Moyes needs to act fast in January if he wants him at Old Trafford.
In my opinion though, Matic is not the kind of player United really need because he is a natural defensive midfielder whereas the English Champions are missing creativity in the center and they need a creative star, someone like Banega to fill the void.

Moyes, It will be an added advantage to you and to man united if u can buy Banega and matic. Man united need defensive minded fielder and creative mid fielder which I see both players as an added advantage.
