David Moyes’s men were rampant against German side Bayer Leverkusen last night and their best ever away result in Champions League confirmed their qualification to knockout stages of the competition.
However, United are still far from top of the premier league being no less than 7 points behind current leaders Arsenal. Not a good sight, for the English champions and the supporters.
With Liverpool and Arsenal flying high, Chelsea and City with quality depth and the likes of Everton, Southampton and Spurs around, retaining the premier league title is going to be the tougher than ever for United.
For that, the Red Devils must sign top quality stars in the January transfer window.
One star that United tried to sign in summer transfer window was Atletico’s Arda Turan who had a release clause of 24 million Euros back then but failed due to complications of paper work.
However, according to reports, United will move for him again in winter to activate his current release clause of €40m and lure the star at Old Trafford.
Liverpool are also reportedly interested in signing the versatile playmaker and the Reds may beat United to his signature as the Turkish international made it clear back in 2010 that he is a Liverpool supporter.
“As I always mention, Liverpool attracts me because of their tradition. In Europe, I am a Liverpool supporter, so if I go to play in Europe, I would like to play for them.”
Will Manchester United fail against because of the fact that Arda is a Liverpool supporter, only time will tell.
