One of the main reasons why Liverpool finished that low in the premier league last season was their inconsistent defense.
Therefore, Brendan Rodgers splashed majority of the transfer money to lure defenders and a major chunk was spent to sign Mamadou Sakho from PSG.
Liverpool spent €20m on deadline day to sign the French international who has only got better since the day he stepped on the field to represent Reds.
Lately the 23 year old defender helped his nation qualify for the World Cup netting twice in the victory over Ukraine side and also helped in keeping clean sheet.
The player deserves all the praise in the world but instead there are baffling reports in France that Sakho is a flop (According to renowned newspaper l’Equipe).
Reason is even more shocking that is because French star missed out in the 3-3 draw versus Everton where Liverpool boss opted to utilize Skrtel and Agger.
It was always going to be that case. Skrtel and Agger did not have any international fixture when Sakho helped his side qualify for the biggest tournament there is.
Therefore, the duo had enough time to prepare and train for the derby. Also, they kept a brilliant clean sheet in the game against Fulham.
Sakho returned late and it makes complete sense when you have that much quality depth, Rodgers had to take that decision.
To call him a flop on the basis of the above given reason does not make any sense what so ever. His qualities are inevitable, and the doubters will soon see.
