Coming into the fixture, Newcastle United were in poor form, Chelsea on the other hand were brilliant. However, the magpies deservedly defeated Blues 2-0.
Last weekend, Chelsea defeated Manchester City in the premier league and then few days later absolutely bossed Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Surely Jose Mourinho’s men were considered favorites to beat Newcastle who lost to bottom of the table Sunderland last weekend and then City ousted them from league cup as well.
Fernando Torres who was brilliant against City was nowhere to be found and had an absolutely mundane game once again. His replacement, Eto’o had more of the same.
Newcastle opened the scoring in the second half thanks to a sublime ball by Cabaye headed home by Gouffran.
Chelsea had to put all their resources in the attack after conceding and in the end paid the price as the home side sealed all three points with a 89th minute goal by in-form forward Remy.

Serves the loud mouth right poor show with all the possession
Clearly ur a Chelsea hater hope ur team win the league.
Dat sound mourinho right.his sub decision today was as if a secondary school coach4rm Congo was incharge of Chelsea.pls can sumbody tel me wat Lampad is stildoing in our 1st team?and again his reason4withdrawing MATA instead of Oscar?Chelsea wount make top 4 with lampad playin ahead of mikel$Oscar ahead of Mata.hw I wish lampad can go on 6months injury.
i am a chelsea fan, i know i am not a coach but anyone who watched the newcastle united /chelsea match will agree that jose got the subs all wrong. For starters, say what u want abt mikel, he should have started this match not lamps. Hazard played his worst game since and lamps well thats another story for the tabloids. Mourinho shud take the blame for this loss not the starting eleven. He got his tactics all wrong. He substituted mata, whats wrong is that mr mourinho your pride will be your downfall. You messed up sir.
