In-from Arsene Wenger’s side were rampant against Norwich City as they dismantled visitors 4-1 to go 2 points clear at the top of English league.
On the other hand, Manchester City continued their decent form as they comfortably defeated Sam Allardyce’s West Ham 3-1 away.
Mirror reports that Arsenal and Manchester City are interested in luring one of the best strikers in the world, Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski.
The Polish goal scoring machine has been linked with a move away from the German club for quite some time and it is expected that he may depart in January to a premier league club.
As per the provided link, Pellegrini may as well be ready to swap Edin Dzeko to bring Lewandowski to Etihad. On the other hand, Arsenal are ready to pay as much as 25 million pounds to lure the striker whose contract will expire next summer.
However, In my opinion, Arsenal lead Man City in the race to sign Lewandowski. Here is why?
Even if Manchester City are able to offload Edin Dzeko, still they have more than a few top quality stars fighting for the position(s) of striker.
Sergio Aguero is irreplaceable at the moment and new signing Negredo has settled well. Moreover, they have highly talented forward Jovetic waiting for his chance as well. Lewandowski may have more $$$ in wages at City but regular playing time is not guaranteed.
Gunners have a completely different scenario. They lack depth in striking department and their main target this winter is to sign one prolific goal scorer.
Giroud is currently their only senior striker and there is no quality direct replacement or even a supporting striker in Arsenal’s squad.
The French star has started the season brightly and is fantastic in build up play but it will be a crime to say that he is better than Lewandowski. Arsenal have brilliant firepower upfront with world class playmakers who could provide the Polish star with the service to bang a lot of goals.
Wenger must move fast for Dortmund’s star and if sanity prevails Arsenal is the right option for Lewandowski and he should sign for them. Warming the City bench is surely not worth it.

you have said it all.
Not quite accurate. Bendtner is well and truly back in the fold and all the players ate raving about him. Even park is impressing in training. If you can include jovetic as a main striker at city then you cannot rule out walcott podolski sanogoor akpom amongst arsenals options.
To be quite frank a 4th centre back aside we have at least 2 good players for each position. I am certain that semi ajayi can be that 4th choice centre back.
Szczesney/viviano
Sagna/jenkinson
Mertesacker/ajayi
Koscielny/vermaelen
Gibbs/monreal
Arteta/flamini
Ramsey/wilshire
Walcott/chamberlain
Ozil/rosicky
Cazorla/podolski
Giroud/bendtner
Then you have fabianski bellerin hayden boateng ormonde-ottewill frimpong diaby olsson toral gnabry zelalem eisfeld ryo sanogo park afobe jeffrey martinez who make a pretty strong reserve outfit when everyone is fit.
Lewandoski is a world class striker……arsenal needs a class act in that department.Giroud is a decent striker, his overall game has blossomed..a poacher like lewy can give great options especially in big games..
Robert Lewendoski is a gunner as far as l can see and l think Wenger likes him too, tomorrow they will have an opportunity to talk together and pursuade him to come.
