Szczesny Stars – Arsenal Player Ratings vs Crystal Palace

Gunners retained their top spot after defeating weak Crystal Palace side in their own backyard.
The home side had recently lost their first team manager, yet Palace put in a fighting performance and held Arsenal back in the first half.
League leaders lost their defensive cover early on as Flamini had to be taken off due to injury. Gnabry replaced him and was lively for the gunners. His pace and trickery were constant threat on the right wing and eventually won Arsenal the penalty in the second half.
Arteta stepped up and made no mistake from the spot to give Arsenal the lead. However, the captain was then showed straight red for stopping former team mate Chamak when he was almost clear through on goal.
Having gone down to 10 men, Wenger was forced to make defensive changes. Gnabry and Cazorla were taken off for Wilshere and Monreal.
Palace threatened Arsenal’s goal being a man up but thanks to brilliant Szczesny, gunners remained in front. The Polish goalie made string of fantastic saves in the second half and was superb throughout.
