Liverpool are facing defensive problems lately and latest reports links them with French wonder kid Kurt Zouma.
Express suggests that Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea may as well be interested in signing the 18 year old boy and St. Etienne fear that huge bid can lure him away from the club.
What makes him special is his strength and positioning. Other than that, his height can come handy from set pieces as he has scored 4 goals in 48 appearances for the French side as well.
Zouma’s brilliant performances for France at the U20 World Cup last summer attracted interest from major European clubs. Chelsea were among them and the French star claimed:
“If you hear of interest from Chelsea and a great manager such as Jose Mourinho, you take notice,”
“It makes you happy, and it means you are on the right way to the top.”
Blues will battle Liverpool for the French international but the question is, why are Liverpool even interested in him?
Reds signed no less than 3 center backs in the summer transfer window to reinforce their defense. Why on earth will they move for another in winter? Surely, they don’t really need Kurt Zouma.
Toure, Sakho and young Ilori were brought by Rodgers. Moreover, they already have the likes of seniors defenders i.e. Agger and Skrtel in the squad.
Therefore, going for another center back does not make any sense and Liverpool should strengthen other departments.

Liverpool right now needs a right back to cover for Johnson.
Liverpool do not require any WONDER KIDS. The club has enough of overhyped KIDS who WONDER what might have been had they joined genuine big clubs and not an historical club. What the Anfield truly club need is more mediocrity and thisnis easily achieved by acquiring more Hendersons, more Lucases, more Allens, more Borinis, mor Assaidis…
Best, I take it your name is reference to the drunken genius as in George?
Well lets look at the great Manure midfield and backline that Includes Smalling, Jones and Cleverley?
Do you think you are in a position to talk about mediocrity?
I would take Henderson, Allen and Lucas over that lot any day of the week.
