Liverpool are joint top of the English league but lately manager Brendan Rodgers and midfielder Jordan Henderson has criticized the performance.
Rodgers liked the fact that Liverpool won all three points against Palace but was disappointed by the overall performance of the players who could not maintain their flowing football and control all game.
Now Henderson claimed:
“We are not playing at the level we know we can. The manager has spoken a lot to us about continuing to improve – it’s frustrating when you see in training how good we are as a group.”
They have only scored once in the second half and scoring is not the main issue but the second half performances have been really tired.
After dominating in the first halves, Reds have opted to hold back and play only on the counter, plus the set piece difficulties continue.
However, the most important thing is that they have been able to grind out results, something they have failed to do in previous seasons.
How many times have we seen Reds dominating games over the years but ended up losing or drawing. Things have changed for good now.
Yes, there is room for improvement, always is, but the rivals should fear them when they settle the minor issues and strengthen more. Reds can only get better.
