He was one of the best central attacking midfielders in the world at Dortmund, but now finds himself in a complex scenario at Manchester United.
Shinji Kagawa has only played a single game in the premier league for the Red Devils, or precisely only 45 minutes.
He deserves his chance in his preferred position but Wayne Rooney who has been highly impressive this season occupies the spot. The England international missed midweek’s CL game against Shakhtar because of shin injury and is expected to return.
However, if he is not fully fit then there is no point risking your best player against the side that lie bottom of the premier league, Sunderland. Kagawa should be given the nod to play where he excels i.e. behind the striker.
In United’s case it will be Van Persie. Whether Moyes will look to give Japanese that role, we shall see but he really should.
Here is Man United’s likely starting 11 against Sunderland with Kagawa playing behind Van Persie, if not then it will be Rooney again.

What i will say to give kagawa chance for play or to let him go back the club that no important he is.
The expected line up is ok.Think, the problem is DC.Meaning,Rio, should be on bench.Give John Evans or Smalling to do the dirty work DC.Over,Kagawa, there’s no prob.He is the best behide the strikers. That’s his position.Rooney can come as a sup-sub.
You’ve lost the plot! How can you drop Rooney in the form he is in from your team. Pay Rooney out left instead in Welbeck as he’ll track back which Kagawa won’t give you! And Fellaini can do one he’s not Man Utd material. Cleverley can do the job in the middle can defend and bring more of an attacking flair which Fellaini does not give.
First of all I would like to say Moyes really do not like Kagawa and Zaha because it don’t make sense how these two guys don’t play yet young Welbeck and fellaini are given more than their fair share of chances Welbeck is a striker who can not justify why he starts guess coz he is British young is a diver and should be sold to a lower level team Hull would be perfect for him and 28 mil fellaini should not even be considered on any united line up because he is just not on that level and why Moyes paid so much for him really makes me wonder about the direction Moyes is heading if we paid that much for a player like him how much would we pay for real quality and the most disturbing part about Moyes is how he is letting Bruno Gomes slip away and I will bet my life united will be chasing this kid in a couple of years and please mr Moyes no more Everton players there is a reason why they played there they do not have a winning mentality so please leave them alone we don’t want them we need nick Powell back you say midfield is the problem yet you turn around and loan out the best midfielder we got and no we do not want song what’s your midfield going to be like song and fellaini come on man that’s a joke
I dnt know what is wrong with moyes alway feeding the wrong players.how can kagawa be reserved for welbeck, fellani and others to play I wil say moyes dosnt want utd well
