Liverpool may be performing well but surely not everyone in the squad can be starting regularly and that has left newcomer Iago Aspas frustrated.
The Spaniard who signed for the merseysiders for approximately €9m in summer is annoyed by lack of playing time.
He told Daily Mail.
“I’m finding it hard to be a sub at Liverpool having started games in the past few years,”
“When I left Celta Vigo I was aware that to start for Liverpool wasn’t going to be easy.”
“And now the team is winning and we are among the leaders in the Premier League, it’s much harder to get a game.”
He was the top scorer for Celta Vigo last season and Rodgers signed him because of his versatility. The flexible star can play out wide as well as a central striker.
Yes he is frustrated but it is his own fault that now he finds himself on the bench. He was given the chance as a starter but did not impress Rodgers or the fans much.
In 6 premier league games (4 starts) he has been quite average. On the other hand, Moses has impressed immediately after joining Reds even though he arrived on deadline day, hence he deservedly starts.
Moreover, Suarez has returned from his ban to instantly start scoring for fun and Rodgers has found a fantastic setup where Sturridge and Suarez can play together.
Brazilian Coutinho is injured and once he is fit, Aspas will almost certainly go further down the order.
Aspas’s touches were mediocre and he mostly lacked confidence. He still needs time to settle into the toughest league in the world but for that he has to prove himself whenever provided the opportunity.

Yeah he can’t be complaining about not being picked ahead of Suarez and Sturridge when he has shown little quality since he signed.
When you buy average players, you can’t expect them to be world beaters.I still think bringing in Moses is only going to stunt Ibe’s growth ;-(
you’r quit correct, from mine understanding of BR, if you play well when given the oppurtunity you can remain in starting eleven on merit not on sentiments. So he Aspas should try and force his way into the first team like Henderson/skrtel.
He’s only had 4 starts. He isn’t complaining at all, only saying he wants to do better. He will get his chance. Anyone saying he has failed is ridiculous-the guy jsut arrived in a new league and with a new team. Luckily the manager isn’t as knee jerk as the fans and journalists (I use the term very lightly). Aspas is a very handy player and has done very well in his career. He will do fine at Liverpool as well.
