Luis Suarez has completed his ban and may as well feature in the starting lineup tonight against rivals Manchester United.
However, as soon as the ban has lifted, he has again become the talking point for everyone. The baffling fact is that Liverpool legends have lost their heads as once again they have started condemning Suarez.
The Uruguayan has not yet stepped onto the field of play and he is facing the same scenario already. Yes, his acts deserved ban and he got that. Yes, his comments about Liverpool this summer deserved bashing, and the former players like Fowler, Aldrige, Hamman etc did that quite a lot all summer long.
Now that he has apologized, settled again and is ready to return, there is no point starting the bashing all over again that too by Liverpool legends.
Liverpool greats like Fowler and Grobbelaar have not wasted much time in doing that.
Fowler has warned Suarez that it is his last chance for the Reds and he should now behave.
On the other hand, Grobbelaar claims that Liverpool should have got rid of Suarez this summer.
All that talk, we have heard during the transfer window when he wanted a move away from the club.
To bring that back again and again just when he is about to return makes no sense. They should all be backing him to help Liverpool achieve their goals this season.
Fortunately, for Liverpool and the supporters, Suarez is a kind of player who always gives more than 100% despite all the controversies and bashing. On the field, he has only one mission and that is to perform at his best.

Liverpool Legends have Lost their Heads

These so called legends should keep their trap shut, they were paid good money to do a job, at the time, now they gone (Has-beens), and therefore, should wake up, and stop imaging that, they are still part of LFC!.
I understand where Fowler and Grobbelaar are coming from. Yes, Luis Suarez is a player with some attitude problems off the field, have been demanding to leave Liverpool during the summer and whatever he did to Ivanovic is unacceptable. And of course, Luis Suarez is a potential negative factor in the dressing room. But Luis Suarez is Luis Suarez. He is a world class player.
He is a Liverpool player. Now that he had stayed and apologized, we should give him our full backing like we have always been. Every Liverpool player needs and deserved our full backing, including Suarez. Having completed his 10 match ban, we should be welcoming him back into the team with open arms and back him to fire us into a successful campaign. Luis Suarez is a quality world class player. Every team would love to have Suarez in their team, regardless of his off the field and on field controversies.
We should ask Grobelaar what would he do if he was the Liverpool manager. Would he really have sold Luis Suarez? And if so to who and for how much? TO Arsenal?? A hell no! For 40M and 1 pound?? NO! He knows that. Grobelaar would also not have sold Suarez if he was the Liverpool manager. Anyone who said they would would be lying. Who would sell a world class player like Luis Suarez for much lesser than the value he deserve in todays overly inflated market and also who would sell him to a direct rival?? No one will! So Grobelaar is horribly wrong to say that Liverpool should sell Suarez.
Its easy to say, but I seriously doubt he would have done that if he was the Liverpool manager. Whatever Fowler and Grobelaar is saying here comes at a horribly wrong time. They might have had the club’s best interest when speaking out on this, but the timing isnt right. Luis Suarez is set to return and face United at Old Trafford tonight in the league cup. Its not good for morale and for Luis Suarez. They should instead be giving their full support to Luis Suarez and back him to help us to a brilliant victory to our arch rivals UNITED. And of course Phil Thompson as well. All this comments about Luis Suarez should have been sold and Suarez’s last chance for Liverpool should and must end now! Support the player and the team!
I can see where you are coming from Suarez is undoubtedly a great player, but no ONE player is bigger than the club,Fowler and co have done a job for Liverpool and kept the good name of the club intact, just look how Liverpool have performed WITHOUT suarez,I agree with Grobbelaar ,he should be moved on before he again brings the reputation of the club into question, because I kid you not my friend if he does something stupid again the buyers wont be knocking on the door for him,I say cash in on him while its still possible he has slagged off the club the manager the fans he just isnt worth it cash in and get another Sturridge that guy is a real pro !!
Yes, Grobelaar and Fowler are legends of Liverpool football club. There’s no denying that. They gave their all for the club and sure they did keep the good name for Liverpool intact. They didnt do stupid stuffs. I love them when they were playing for Liverpool. It’s the same for Luis Suarez. He sure isn’t a Liverpool legend at present and his controversies meant that he might never be one, but seriously the point is that Luis Suarez is a wonderful player. Why would you want to offload him for much lesser than he deserve? Yes no way anyone is bigger than the club. But you have to think in the best interest of the club. During the summer, Arsenal were the only real club to show any form of formal interest in Suarez. Real Madrid flirted with the idea, but it was all mere rumours and never was there a real formal interest from their side. And so there was only Arsenal in for him. If you were the Liverpool manager, would you have sold Suarez to Arsenal for 40M +1pound?? No, you wouldn’t. Its obvious. If you have done so, the Liverpool fans will hate you. Yes, you would have sold off Luis Suarez and get rid of all his controversies, but at what price? At the price of strengthening your direct rival for champions league spot an awful lot and at the price of suffering a backlash from the fans?
Sometimes, I think people are always too eager to use the term no one player is bigger than the club. It is something everyone fans would agree to. But looking at the big picture, sometimes its stupid to just get rid of a player just because of this. You have to consider everything. The club’s best interest always comes first. If you want to sell a quality player like Suarez, yes you can but to who? You have to consider it from a footballing point of view and from a business point of view. It might have been the best opportunity to get rid of Suarez but looking at the whole picture again, Luis Suarez to Arsenal? A hell no. And Arsenal have gotten Ozil now. Imagine they did get Suarez and then Ozil. Woah that would make them one hell of a team. They will be a hell lot stronger and ahead of us in the race for top 4. You wouldn’t want that to happen seriously.
Statistics have shown Liverpool win more games without Luis Suarez. Yeah, but thats just a statistics. With Suarez, Liverpool looked a hell lot more threatening. There will be more goals. Reason why we might have win lesser with Suarez is because or his style of play and because some of his team mates are buzzing and a little afraid of playing with Suarez. They know he is a quality player and they will want to match his skills. But thats where Rodgers job is. To steady the team, get the team ready and make sure everyone is a team player. And its evident its happening. If you look at our league cup defeat to United, Suarez looks a change man. As well as the team. Back in the past, Suarez would have done a lot of things on his own and take a lot of shots, but in this game, you can see he was always looking to pass his team mate throughout instead of shooting. He looks much more a team player now. Also the team. They looked less frightened and shy to play with Luis Suarez. Instead it was eagerness and adrenaline to play with Suarez. This is all positive. It is now down to Rodgers to prepare his team, to build a formation suitable for Suarez and Sturridge. And when Coutinho comes back in.
Now that Coutinho is injured, it was all good we kept Luis Suarez. He can more than make up for his absence. And when Coutinho does return, Liverpool have got a mouth watering attacking front. And we are also gonna be strengthening further in January. Let’s be honest, Liverpool have more chances of a top 4 finish with Suarez than without. He can give Liverpool that extra bit of quality to get us there. So would you have sold him in the summer having made all these considerations? Most likely you wouldn’t. But I’m pretty sure if you did, you would regret. We can do a Tottenham. Sell Bale for a good amount and get in more good players to strengthen the team rather than one player. But its wont work that. Suarez will only have costed 40+1pound. No more than that. And this amount is clearly not enough to make up for Suarez’s absence. Because is insane today. Players can easily cost up to 30M now. So how is this amount enough? And dont forget we dont have champions league football and most of the good players are going to Spurs and elsewhere because of their financial power. We would lose out. We would more likely be getting in a lot more Aspases than the likes of Ericksen, Ozil, Lamela, etc.. Still want to sell Suarez??
And finally, I think we can manage Suarez better. He has some problems and lots of controversies on and off the field. But we can manage that. If we manage him properly, educate him properly, he will be ok. If we turn his passion in the game to more passion to winning the game for Liverpool, that will benefit us so much more better. Manage properly and we have got an immense player on our hands. Suarez is a top quality player. Just ask the Norwich defenders. They are afraid of him. All too often in the past Liverpool have always gotten rid of players all too easily and for much lesser. Cant ever imagine Kuyt, Bellamy, Garcia, Kewell, Maxi and so much more others leaving on a free. We cant get rid of Suarez just yet. It would make us silly and we would lose out further in the race for top 4. Now we should give Suarez all the backing he deserved and the team. In everyone in the team we shall trust and Brendan Rodgers. Lets hope for a good season. Just imagine this picture. With the score tied at 1-1 in our final game of the season and if we win, we are guaranteed 4th. And in the dying minutes, Suarez nugmegs the defender, twist and turn and score the all important goal and win. You would love that when you see that.. Ynwa. Cheers-Johnny
