Mathieu Flamini departed Arsenal for AC Milan 5 years ago on a free transfer and this summer Frenchman returned to the Emirates on a bosman as well.
The 29 year old midfielder was very effective during his first tenure with the club and is proving fruitful even now.
Today, we look back on another classic goal, scored by none other than Arsenal’s Flamini in 2008 against Newcastle United.
Gunners were leading 1-0 thanks to former star striker Adebayor’s goal in the first half. With 15 odd minutes remaining, Flamini sealed the win with a spectacular 30 yard strike.
Shay Given had absolutely no chance of stopping that one.
That goal was Flamini’s last in the Arsenal shirt and was an absolute stunner.
Enjoy the Goal.
