Having smashed the club record by some distance on German star Mesut Ozil, it looks like that the doors have finally opened for the gunners to spend big and compete with the very best.
Arsenal may have signed one of the best players in the world on deadline day but they failed to lure many transfer targets for important positions this summer.
Latest reports suggest that Arsenal are to splash €70m+ on Deutsche stars in January. However, it is highly unlikely or perhaps unreal that they will be able to lure them.
The players in discussion are Reus and Gundogan of Borussia Dortmund and last one who they also tried to sign in the latest window, Lars Bender but Leverkusen rejected Arsenal’s 18.5m pounds offer.
Arsene Wenger has never really liked Winter transfer window but Arsenal supporters can dream on that this might change just like he changed his habit of not spending big.
Anyways, firstly, Arsenal are in group of death of Champions League. Their squad is strong enough to qualify for KO rounds against the likes of European giants Napoli and Dortmund. If they do not qualify then surely they can stop thinking about signing any brilliant star in January.
On the other hand, the problem is that these three German internationals will be cup tied anyways and their arrival will not strengthen Gunners squad for CL knockout stages, plus why will they want to leave if their teams are still in CL.
Anyways, signing the mentioned players is easier said than done and a dream too unrealistic as far as winter transfer window is concerned for Arsenal.
